A Viking Legend: The Violaceous Amethyst

R 185.00

A Gripping Adventure

I read this book four years ago and still remember it clearly: vivid images come to mind when I think of the story and how it unfolded with surprising twist and turns. There was a wise piece of advice in it that I still give to my children, that went along the lines of: if anyone tries to grab you, turn and run as fast as you can! It was an exciting and fast-paced story that made me laugh out loud in places.

Absolutely hilarious

What a novel just filled to the brim with laughs, perfectly moulded around dramatic tales of high adventure and good old Viking-style fun. Best of all, the characters have real heart and carry the mostly humorous story through internal developments that feel real and honest.

Outrageous yarns from the hilarious Queen spinner of tall tales.

Fun with a capital 'F'

As witty as A Series of Unfortunate Events, highly imaginative and wholly original, it’s a total blast. Chockablock with story, larger-than-life characters, mythology and monsters... It's Fun with a capital 'F'.

Smart, funny, exciting, sincere and rich

Smart, funny, exciting, sincere and rich with the genuine pleasures of story and escape. Making me want to take a yearly journey to Yondersaay, I hardly looked up from reading.”
