Maria Lebedeva

Maria Lebedeva is an illustrator of (mostly) picture books, living and working in Somerset West, South Africa. She is a lover of children’s books, an avid traveller, a coffee enthusiast, and a PhD candidate. While published by Imagnary House with several titles, she is represented internationally as an illustrator by SB Rights agency. 

While working traditionally, she has exhibited locally with Gallery 2, Salon 91, and at KKNK, among others, her focus is on literature. She has written and illustrated her own children's book, Mu's Wolf Problem, and worked on several other projects as illustrator, like Listen to Your Diddalum and Hello, Trees.
