Danica Ricciardi

Danica Ricciardi is an illustrator and graphic artist, working in Cape Town, South Africa. Ricciardi’s experience is extremely extensive, and she has mastered capturing a story’s essence in various styles, as they call for. The Complete Guide to Being a Monster is her first published children’s book, with an expectation for many more to come.

The Complete Guide to Being a Monster follows three little monsters (Ike, Spike, and Mia), who recount the lessons they've learnt of how "to be the best monster they can be". Such things as practising their roar, embracing the dark for glow worms and twinkling stars, building their own lair, or even learning how to dance... but perhaps most important is discovering what it means to enjoy being themselves.
